WOOLGATHERERS

Strange heads floating in their own little bubbles. Eyes flat and distant. Wits wandering, gathering wool.

The Woolgatherer series came about off the back of new pieces created for the 100 heads challenge during the pandemic lockdown in 2020. Some of the heads I created had developed into the strange characters - disconnected floating heads with with vacant staring eyes - I decided to make a short series of them, choosing to suspend them in their own little bubbles - lights on, nobody home.

Oil, acrylic and pencil crayon on circular birch plywood panel.

Diameter 25cm, depth 3mm.
