MEDUSA

Since the first accidental Medusa head early on in my 100 heads project, I was keen to explore these snake enveloped heads further. Painted on circular wooden panels in homage to Caravaggio's Medusa (painted onto a wooden shield to represent the one used by Perseus in the Greek myth), these paintings explore the messy exchange between head, heart and guts.

Oil and coloured pencil on circular birch plywood panel.

Diameter 30cm, depth 6mm.
